The " Full Service-VDSL Committee is a subcommittee of FSAN, constituted as an association.
The seat of FS-VDSL Committee is in Geneva, Switzerland.

The goals of the committee are

  1. To rapidly specify a low cost, high capability end-to-end multi-service network based on VDSL Frequency Band Plan 998 which can be quickly and economically deployed to enable customers, focusing principally on consumer market, to benefit from competition, under the general framework of FSAN (Full Service Access Network) Consortium.
  2. To rapidly gain a high profile and build credibility through obvious commitment of major players with declared aim to leverage off, and downstream to, existing bodies such as DSL Forum, DVB, Etc. and Standards Institutes
  3. The goals are realized through the open international collaboration of all interested parties, on reasonable terms applied uniformly and openly. FS-VDSL COMMITTEE will contribute the results of its activities to appropriate formal standards bodies if applicable.

In Paris, July 6th and 7th, 2000 a group of FSAN operators is meeting with VDSL Vendors to find the best way for accelerating the deployment of VDSL technology.
