The "Full Service-VDSL Committee" has been created as a
not for profit subcommittee of FSAN, in
October 2000 with the goal to deliver the first version of full
service VDSL specifications. Two years later the ITU-T
established a new
Focus Group under Study
Group 16 (Multimedia services, systems and terminals)
referred as "Full Service VDSL Focus Group". The Members
of this committe, a group of network operators and vendors, shared a common
vision for a multi service delivery platform based on VDSL. Have a look on the set
of slides used to present the Committee and Focus Group.
After completion of its work, the Forum itself has stopped activity in October
2003 while the Focus Group will continue activity within the SG16 of
ITU-T.
